One publication, several sections
Substack has an editorial streams feature that it calls “Sections”. They offer three useful advantages:
Each editorial strand can have its own identity and dedicated archive, making related articles easier to find,
Readers can choose which Sections they receive by email without unsubscribing from TEE™ altogether, and
Sections can be grouped together within the navigation bar on the website so readers can dig into themes of interest.
What you’ll see in your inbox
If we assign an article to a given Section then it will alter how it lands in your inbox. This is by design. For example: if an edition belongs to the section called Handmade, then it will appear in your email From field as:
Handmade by TEE™
This should help you quickly decipher what to expect from a given article. Rather than all emails landing as TEE™ regardless of their underlying theme, you’ll now be able to differentiate between subjects at a glance. Sections make the subject matter recognisable before you even open the email.
If you prefer to read TEE via our website tee.ink then you’ll find a new item within the navigation bar that we call Collections. Currently, we have four collections to choose from. We’ll continue to add content to each collection as our library grows.
We’ve adopted Sections in response to your feedback. You told us that you’d prefer to have greater visibility over the topics you subscribe to, so that you can more easily consume the topics you love.
Did you know?
You can subscribe to, or unsubscribe from, individual sections if you’d like to tailor the content you receive. This is our way of offering you better control over your inbox and helping you to prioritise your reading material.
Change your section preferences at any time through your Substack subscription settings.
If you already subscribe to TEE™, you don’t need to do anything. All existing subscribers have been added to each of our new sections automatically. Free subscribers will receive only those articles that we have explicitly unlocked for everyone. Paid subscribers will continue to receive all new editions as they are released.
We hope this enhancement goes someway to improving your reader experience.
As always, please leave us a comment and tell us what you think.
Stay thoughtful.
James.
